Update of Re-Slating of Church Roof

Update of Re-Slating of Church Roof

The plans to re-slate the Church roof are progressing well with the hope that work will begin at the end of April. Thank you to all who have already been generous to the new “Roof Fund” envelopes. Already almost £3000.00 has been brought in by early February.

Below are a number of points that must be borne in mind when the work commences:

The Church will be deemed a “building site” and will be surrounded by a fence. Access is restricted to those who will be working on the site. Only authorized personnel will be allowed on the site.

Church services will be held in the Hall during the duration of the work.

Only weddings will take place in the Church on the dates already agreed with the architect.

For funerals, the Rector will liaise with each family to use an alternative location such as a funeral parlour or neighbouring Church.

Access to the Hall will be by the Smithfield entrance by car or foot and Barrack Street by foot. There should be no double parking at the entrance at Smithfield.

Please be patient with all these practical implications. If there are no parking spaces left around the Hall, please seek an alternative location and do not block other people in.
